Funchal
Funchal is the largest city, and the capital of Portugal’s Autonomous Region of Madeira. The city has been the capital of Madeira for more than five centuries. Because of its high cultural and historical value, Funchal is one of Portugal’s main tourist attractions. It is also popular as a destination for New Year’s Eve, and it is the leading Portuguese port on cruise liner dockings. (From Wikipedia)

FUNCHAL, Cidade de Sonho
(Funchal, City of Dream)
In this Video, only the one phrase,
“Please go to Zona Velha.”
After the phrase, scene of Zona Velha is almost the end of this Video, next to the Mercado.
Mercado dos Lavradores (Farmer’s Market)
Mercado dos Lavradores is the entrance of Zona Velha.
Zona Velha (Old Town)

If you go to Zona Velha in a day time, You can see lots of Restaurants and painted doors. But you can’t imagine the night time of the week ends has a different face.

Forte de Santiago

Teleférico (ropeway, cable car)

On the sunny day, it is a very good way to see Funchal city from the sky, reaching to Monte.
Monte
Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Monte
(Church of Our Lady Monte)

Nossa Senhora do Monte Festival
August 14-15th
Jardim Tropical Monte Palace
(Monte Palace Tropical Garden)
Feel the Harmony of West and East
From Monte you can take another cable car to another very famous garden.
Actually Both gardens are very big, so you have to walk quite a lot.
I prefer to go 2 big gardens in different days. Also you can go both gardens by bus easily.
Jardim Botânico da Madeira
(Madeira Botanical Garden)

If you have to choose one garden from those 2 gardens…
Tropical garden is landscape natural beautiful garden and you feel Macau / Asia.
Botanical garden is more flowery beautiful garden and Cactus. Easier access, easier to walk.
As I know, ladies like Botanical Garden (especially you can go with high-heel).
I personally like free Madeira Wine that you get at the Tropical Garden.
Toboggans

After this fun ride, Have a break at the Cafe.
From there only 15 min. down hill walk to Luxury Apartment Living Funchal.
